Adventures in Learning

A blog about Learning, about Education, about reform, about change, about what it means to teach. I am trying to ask the question "Why we educate" and what my answer means to me as a teacher and how my role shapes society and the whole.

My own personal philosophy of education is drawn from a wide range of sources but built on the backbone of the Social constructivist ideas of learning. I draw a lot from Dewey, Piaget, Vigotsky, George Dennison, Carl Rogers, A.S. Neil, Ron Berger, Jill Ostrow, Vivian Gussin Paley, Howard Garner, Steiner, Krishnamurti, Paul Goodman, Friere, Deb Meier, Ed Shapiro, Ted Sizer, Ayers,  and many many more.

Where does your personal Philosophy of education come from?
