I really liked that video about cuts in education. I am at school at the moment-my school gets fantastic results and the quality of teaching is generally very good. My school encourages hard work and it has a system of discipline that promotes good behaviour-however the problem is that most students, and this really frustrates me, see learning as something that gets them into university and therefore gets them a well payed job-they do not understand the beauty in learning for pleasure!
I OCCUPY EDUCATION, because I want to be a part of education transformation.
I occupy education because I know there are better ways to learn and live.
I occupy education because there is nothing I rather be doing.
I occupy education because I believe every child and adult deserves to be part of learning communities that are designed as if they matter!
I occupy education because education is a human right.
I occupy education because I want to help more children and adults have access to quality education and have the ability to be life long learners without mountains of debt.

In School, I….
- was constantly stressed.
- didn’t have to time to relax or be with my family.
- was told I was stupid by teachers and their grades.
- wasn’t really learning.
Now, I …
- am happy and helathy.
- have control over my time.
- know I’m smart.
- feel good about myself.
- am learning, living, and loving it!!!
I OCCUPY EDUCATION!
I Occupy Education by helping to bring communities together through helping us understand our similarities rather than only focusing on our differences! I work in an environment where not all of my ideals mesh with the standards of the company, but I see HOPE and I SPEAK POWER to that HOPE, and I BELIEVE I am transforming community education every day!!!
I Occupy Education by not forgetting those INSIDE and OUTSIDE of the system, both educators and students, praying for their freedom, so that their own thoughts, their own voice, might reclaim what their heart is already telling them what they already know.
I Occupy Education by PROMOTING Progressive Learning to future educators. I do this by speaking its voice, writing its narrative, and by living its truth. I believe in its necessity, for the betterment of America and the betterment of the world.
I will always Occupy Education by standing up for the type of learning that transforms people and not capitalist agendas. I will always Occupy Education if it means working to improve how we all learn and will learn and who we can learn from, both in the present, the past and the future.

- I want to see money equally distributed to ALL schools, no matter that location of the institution or the race of the student body.
- innovatively injecting education into the minds of the youth will cripple “the cycle”
- We live in a society where operating without one is extremely dangerous
- I want my kids and all their friends to be contributing members of society
- Ignorance is not bliss, more like poison.
- If we all occupied education”their” efforts in oppressing us would be a lot more strenuous on their behalf.

Whether I shall be the hero of my school life, or whether that station will be held by anyone else I cannot tell. All I can say is I am Devoted and Dedicated to my education. That is WHY I OCCUPY!

We must come together and stand up to not only save public education, but also transform it to actually be for, of and by the people, the children, and the community! I occupy education and I hope more will join us!
I occupy education by teaching in a mindset, “The Secret W6” (don’t ask, ‘cos if you need to you aren’t a member) where the demands of the “Curriculum” come second, third or last to the importance of discussing What Really Matters.
